Bio

Hailing from Queensland's Sunshine Coast THE ELECTRO KID! formed in 2010 after starting out as the solo project of Giles Higginson. By the start of 2011 The Electro Kid was a full band bringing together an eclectic array of influences, in order to create their own unique sound.

After playing their first show in May this 2011, opening for The Never Ever, THE ELECTRO KID! have gone from strength to strength, playing shows with several high profile and notable bands including Tonight Alive, Rufio, The Monster Goes RAWRR! and Northie.

THE ELECTRO KID! debut single FOR YOURSELF was released in March 2011 on iTunes and earned the band National Youth Week's highest accolade as the People's Choice Award in the RockIT category whilst also being met with acclaimed reviews with bloggers describing it as a mash of "Owl City locked in a room with Bowling for Soup and a whole heap of synths and guitars. It’s a very indie electro/pop-punkish collision of sounds, yet it works."
THE ELECTRO KID! is now offering their debut EP STARGAZING as a free download. The EP features four energy driven dance songs, with a fresh electro-pop sound rarely found on the current Australian music scene. THE ELECTRO KID! are different and unique and are emitting a real party vibe with their music.

In 2012, THE ELECTRO KID! have secured interviews with Mania, Bluunt and Girl Power Magazine as well as featuring on Toasted TV. The band recently played alongside A Sleepless Melody & The Sunny Side Up in Brisbane.

“Stargazing is one of the ultimate party EP for everyone and anyone willing to get up and dance! So next party you have, put Stargazing on your iPod and pump it up loud. You’ll be sure to find it great tunes to listen and love!” - Wild Cat Music Reviews
