Local rockers The Elements will take the stage this Friday, opening for Led Zeppelin tribute band, In The Light. The Elements are a four-year old rock outfit, who launched their campaign in the name of crafting melodic, guitar-driven music that is at once different and accessible. A quick trip to their MySpace page finds groovy, feel good tunes such as “In All of Us” and rawer garage guitar cuts like “Around the Sun,” but what seems most consistent about The Elements’ music is that they’re a sunny West Coast rock band trapped in the gray-skied Midwest. The music has the jangley, funky, bluesy feel of good pool side rock, but is interesting capped in rusty, soot-covered sound that reflects the gray melted snow puddles of our pot-holed streets, reflecting the gray sky above. All in all, worthy-of-a-listen tunes from The Elements. www.myspace.com/theelementsofrock

Opening for bands such as Sponge, L.A. Guns, Absent Star, and Seven Mary Three, The Elements push the limits with their soaring melodies and rock’n’roll sound.
Every show, The Elements put it all out there and give people something everyone needs…a dream.
Never chasing the flavor of the month, The Elements are constantly writing and recording new material in the studio. They keep their direction open and fresh in hopes that one day this dream will take flight.
“Getting a record contract is like playing the lottery. I don’t play the lottery…but I’d play this.” Samurai – Lead Guitarist of The Elements
