Thee Lorax

starting out in the bay area's fastekno scene back in the beginning of the 90's, dj Lorax (aka - Joshua English) was involved in a collective called the 5lowerShop that concentrated on smaller, more quaint parties that usually occured in forests and beaches.
moving on, dj Lorax made an about face and found a knack for spinning lavish and colorful ambient sets that usually involved stories and an ecclectic mix of elctronic as well as acoustic music. he found a home with the psy trance scene whose congregants appreciated the 'weird' aspects of dj Lorax's sets.
dj Lorax was a vinyl hold out until 2001 when it became impossible for him to spin since all the turntables disappeared from the scene. with a short venture into the digital dj scene, dj Lorax decided to follow the lead of his peers in the bay area scene and decided to make his own music. sampling from the plethora of influences that encircle dj lorax's mind, dj Lorax accomplishes what very few in the electronic downtempo scene can... he makes great mimimalist music that still engages the mind and body. take a journey with dj Lorax.
