BandAmericanaRock

We are a fun, mostly girl band with a lot of musical sophistication. Flirting between americana, funky rock, and whatever we want keeps it very interesting. Between our original songs we like to throw in curveball covers that we think would please any music lover.

Biography

The Emily Anne Band is a San Francisco-based down-home glam band. Hailing from different parts of the country and diverse musical backgrounds, members Elizabeth Goodfellow (drums/vocals), Miriam Speyer (bass/vocals), Benjamin Andrews (guitar) and the band's namesake, Emily Anne Reed (vocals/tenor guitar) started developing their own brand of Americana-infused tunes in late 2011. In fewer than six months the quartet had successfully toured the Pacific Northwest and wowed the celebrity judges on the NBC hit America's Got Talent, advancing to the second round in Las Vegas.  The EAB brings a fresh mix of familiar sounds while delivering a foot-stomping performance seasoned with heart-melting country love songs and booze-tinged ballads. Be on the lookout for an upcoming release of new original material from this outfit that will have you looking for the socks that were just rocked off your feet.

Lyrics

Lullaby

Written By: The Emily Anne Band

Sunshine, it's nighttime so lay your head to sleep
Morning may bring you love
Til then may your dream be sweet
And may they bring you peace

If you close your eyes
There's a silver sky and you'll fly
And you'll see this world
Shining like a pearl through your eyes

Baby, no need to worry
I'll stay here just like this
I promise to wake you with a kiss

I’ll be there when morning comes
To kiss you in the morning sun

If you close your eyes
There's a silver sky and you'll fly
And you'll see this world
Shining like a pearl through your eyes

I promise to wake you with a kiss
Goodnight, sleep tight

Wadin'

Written By: The Emily Anne Band

I left my love wadin in a sea
Sea's gone dry but she still waits for me
I left my love wadin in a sea
Sea's gone dry but she still waits for me

She still waits for me

If I knew how she cared
or if I wondered when she beared
Then I wouldn't leave her so
I'd have to let her know my love

And when I stagger back
She better tell me know
That her year of wadin' won't let it go
But I know she loves me

Wadin, wadin, she'll come back to me
How could I? Why was she?
Wadin, wadin, I left my love.

Music Daddy

Written By: The Emily Anne Band

I don’t want a lot of things
Just a big sweet man to hit them strings
Music Daddy play for me

Think I know when the gettin’s good
I understand that it’s understood
Music Daddy play for me

When the flirtin’s through
We’ll find the B part
Lookie who still has my heart
We’ll go dancin’ from the four to the five
Gonna keep our love alive

Stand by me I won’t steer you wrong
I’ll be your bird and I’ll sing your song
Music Daddy play for me

My Virginia

Written By: The Emily Anne Band

How i long to see that old virginia sky
Falling leaves from the falltime trees
Puts ten years past my eyes
To know when my existance finally comes to an end
That I will no longer remember my old hometown friends

It wasn’t much but we called it home
In a time when things were rough
Let your future take you back to your roots
It wasn’t much but we called it home

We went swimming in the river
By there we dug a hole
We buried our precious treasure
Homegrown Virginia souls

It wasn’t much but we called it home
In a time when things were rough
Let your future take you back to your roots
It wasn’t much but we called it home

Papa you know I love you
Sweet Ma too, though she let me slide
Through the fiery cracks and crevices
Of this dangerous world so wide

It wasn’t much but we called it home
In a time when things were rough
Let your future take you back to your roots
It wasn’t much but we called it home

One fine morning bright and warm
Clear as glass but smoother still
I will jump out and fly home
Through this dirty window sil

It wasn’t much but we called it home
In a time when things were rough
Let your future take you back to your roots
It wasn’t much but we called it home
