"Salt Lake Underground Magazine"

“Rivera, and his English charm carried the energy built up by [the support acts] and pushed it further, making fans of everyone… It’s obvious that these boys love playing music…They still have the humility and love of their craft. It’s a great thing to see..” - Blake Leszczynski, Salt Lake Underground Magazine - Salt Lake Underground Magazine

"Salt Lake Concert"

“[They] brought energy, fun and skilfully crafted songs…It was worth the wait. This is one of those bands that make you eager to find out when their next show is because their songs need to be heard again and again.” - Natalie Jones, AXS.com - AXS

"BBC Introducing Radio"

“I love this!” - Gary Crowley, DJ, Introducing London Radio while playing Empire Kings' music - BBC Introducing

"Album Review"

“With a sound like they’re recording in a big hall, their catchy riffs and hooks, they kept me listening the whole way through and I already had favourites after the first listen. They clearly cater for more than just the genre they somehow neatly fall into but push the boundaries of.” - Jordan Kuyper, dontstayinside.com - Don't Stay Inside

Bio

Award-winning singer/songwriter Colin Rivera is exploding onto the scene with his newest brainchild: Empire Kings. The American-born, British-raised musician has spent the last two years in London, fearlessly exploring an unparalleled sound that combines sophisticated indie rock, with raw emotion and soaring melodies. Although Empire Kings’ sound will resonate with fans of Queens of the Stoneage, Kings Of Leon, Catfish & The Bottlemen, and Sigur Rós, Rivera’s music delivers a uniqueness rarely seen in today’s musical world.

Rivera cut his teeth spending years touring under various monikers, supporting artists such as HelloGoodbye, The Rocket Summer, Hoobastank, He Is We, The Ataris and Lindsey Sterling, and playing venues like the iconic San Diego Hard Rock Café, as well as London’s Barfly and Dublin Castle. Soon after moving to London, Empire Kings performed at the UK’s V Festival, alongside the likes of Mark Ronson, Sam Smith, Chvrches and Kasabian. Rivera’s electrifying live show continues to pack venues across the London scene, with the aid of a talented cast of touring musicians, most notably drummer Paul Mortimore, whose credits include work with Carl Barât of The Libertines, and Daryl Bamonte of Depeché Mode/The Cure. Rivera’s anthems "She's Gonna Be My Girl" and “Black Eye” quickly burst on to British radio thanks to DJs Gary Crowley (of BBC Introducing) and Peter Darrington (Radio Andra/The RecklessYes).

Empire Kings are leaping forward with their new and best outing to date: “Blackprint EP,“ featuring addictive tracks “Lost Boys,” “Cathedral,” and “Circles,” all mixed and mastered by Warner/Chappell’s Edward Abela.

Rivera’s energetic live show and powerful songs are quickly turning the relatively new Empire Kings into a force to be reckoned with. As the audience keeps growing, Rivera is looking to partner with the right management and label, in order to continue his journey and become the next household name in worldwide rock and roll.
