Bio

The Empire State formed in late 2003 from the ashes of several San Diego bands. Greg came over from the leftovers of SD punk band One Side Red. Wesley was singing and playing guitar in the bands Arial 6 and Distemper. Our current drummer and resident guy with nice hair, Dan, spent some time in Hence The Name and Pridebowl. Connor just kind of showed up one day… Ironically, in this age of internet dating sites and a world where you can’t exist without 5 email addresses, we all met on local music websites. We hung out, songs were written, shows were played, and here we are today.

Since our beginning, we’ve played countless shows, shared the stage with everyone from the garage band down the street to several national acts, released our debut 3 song demo, inked a publishing deal with Whiskey Records, been featured in “Bands to Watch 2006” in No Cover Magazine, had 2 songs included in the 2005 DVD release “Obscure Influence” from Derder Productions, had 4 songs included in “Soldiers of Misfortune” from Derder productions in Jan 2007’ , and “Every Thing You Never Knew” is currently in licensing to possibly appear in a major video game release.

We released our debut EP “After All” in December of 2006. It features the tracks “Every Thing You Never Knew”, “Frankenstein”, Shooting Stars”, and Horse Shoes and Hand grenades”.
