Bio

"ALTERNATIVE ROCK INSPIRED BY A LONG STANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH METAL, AND A LOVE AFFAIR WITH MELODY"

Its drive is heavy. It's lyrically poignant. It's been described as metal inspired alternative, and sometimes just plain honest rock. Whatever you call it - you will find in it - something that shakes you, moves you, finds the place you hide it, tears it into shreds and makes you look at the remains square in the face.

Hailing from north of Toronto Ontario, brothers Josh and Luke Hutchinson, Grant Boyer and Jason Yuricek of The Entropy are continuing to make a serious impact on the Canadian Alt/Rock scene.

Their first EP "Self Titled" was released in 2005, which led to a full length release written, recorded and co-produced by the band one year later. "An Arcane State" was released in 2006, and went on to sell 5000 copies off the stage alone. The lead off single "Nothin New" garnered radio play locally, as well as on the Ontario college circuit. In support of "An Arcane State" The Entropy toured relentlessly, receiving positive feedback from the both the industry, and their growing fan base alike.

In 2007 they headed back to the studio to record a new EP. Fuelled by a need to prove their music deserved a chance "The LA Sessions" were recorded in Los Angeles, and released in October 2007. With tracks like "One Left" and "The Idiot", various podcast profiles, and television spots, The Entropy found themselves once again under the watchful eye of the industry.

"The band strikes a perfect balance onstage, not only with the vocal harmonies between Hutchinson and Boyer, but in combining all of the band's musical dimensions. The duelling guitars, punchy rolling bass lines, powerful drumming, and the occasional growling scream all blend seamlessly together"

The Entropy continued to tour, and their fan base continued to grow. In mid 2008 they took time off to write, and in November 2008 The Entropy began pre-production on a new batch of songs that are collectively the most solid effort by the foursome to date.

In 2009 they began their recording session at DNA Studios in Toronto Ontario, and currently are putting the final touches on their latest project entitled "Cities Will Fall" - set for release in early 2010.

With "Cities Will Fall", The Entropy are set to prove they are stronger than ever. Not only is the album an overwhelmingly accomplished collection of hard hitting riffs, and intricate themes, but shows a renewed sense of determination.

"Cities is an aggressive 6 track examination of lost love, life, death, and faith - it will challenge you to consider your future... our future"
