Bio

The Eric Zarycki Persuasion, lead by Eric Zarycki of Dearborn Heights, will release its sophomore album Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Jacoby’s in Detroit. The Eric Zarycki Persuasion, or EZP, is an eclectic blend of alt country and rock and roll, influenced by the likes of Wilco, Ryan Adams, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Robert Pollard and many more. As the newly emerging genre of alt country is steadily gaining popularity in today’s music scene, EZP’s sound engages fans from every corner of the music spectrum. Eric realized his goal of creating a serious album when he had reached the point at age 25 “when almost everything you were or have been changes or comes into focus. You realize playing as loud and angry as you can has become futile.” This best describes Eric and guitarist Jason Robinson's current musical mood as they release their self-titled album, The Eric Zarycki Persuasion. A chance encounter introduced Eric to Jason Robinson of Allen Park. Jason had just moved back to Detroit from Nashville with refined recording/engineering chops and was looking for a new project. They talked for hours about what they loved in music. A bond was formed. Soon after Eric and Jason met, work began on a new record. Many favors were called in to complete the record. Justin Fox of Nashville group All We Seabees came in to play drums on the album’s four main tracks and local artist Chelsea Taube sang harmonies on multiple songs. Mike Glaab of Detroit duo The Magnolias lent his voice as harmony to the record’s opener and Brian Thunders of Detroit band The Singles played drums on the final track. Pedals were steeled and basses were upright. What started out as a four song demo soon became a seven song E.P. It's heavily country influenced sound and eerie demeanor has left many who have heard it surprised and excited for its release. Eric and Jason will introduce their eagerly anticipated album at their upcoming CD release party, Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Jacoby’s in Detroit with special guest Chelsea Taube.
