The Evening Groove is a professional Boston based band. This groove based sound vehicle is made up of professional jazz musicians mixed with the Burden brothers intellectual and perpetual rhythm section. These groove junkies have a wide range of musical influences from funk, southern blues, jazz, soul, reggae, and Latin. Some of the biggest influences include Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, George Clinton, Led Zepplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Phish, ZZ Top, Marvin Gaye, Jamiroquai, Bob Marley and Victor Wooten. The list goes on, but the fact is, this wall of sound is known to get the dance floor jumping. The Evening Groove performs mostly original tunes, but chooses great covers, often performed with various guest artists from the Massachusetts musical community. East meets west with Colorado native front man and jazz guitarist Dawson James, Wisconson born sax master Max Fronek, and the stone groove rhythm section of the Burden brothers, from Worcester, MA. Dawson has blues guitar roots, growing up on B.B. King, Hendrix, and SRV. Out of high school, he studied Classical Baroque music at Fort Lewis College and is currently a jazz performance guitar major at Berklee. Max started playing sax in seventh grade to impress girls. Soon after he realized his natural talent and ability on the instrument. After touring Europe playing sax, Max made Berklee his new home where he currently studies performance sax.. Bassist Josiah Burden and drummer Timothy Burden grew up making music together. Raised on Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, the two found various musical styles playing in many bands, separate and together. The mission is to create quality groove based songs spanning many genres, as well as promote goodwill through music. Supportive of many causes, the group has no reservations about playing charity events or public functions. The main goal is to make a product that both musicians and everyday listeners can appreciate and enjoy.
