Biography

We are The Even Tide, an established San Francisco Bay Area based quintet. We have mastered the bridge between the Progressive and Heavy Rock genres, which allow us to compose a wide range of powerful, original Rock music. The band consists of 5 best friends and veteran musicians: Morgan Mclean – Drums, Elliot Polokoff – Rhythm guitar, Jesse Mancillas – Lead Guitar, Kit Rairigh – Bass, and Andrew Deneef – Vocals.
We keep our band strategy simple – be heard. We understand the challenge of growing a band from nothing, and make it a top priority to grow our brand every day. We engage our fans on our social media sites, utilize internet radio stations, and most importantly, we make new fans face-to-face; the old fashioned way. You can find us, and our Bay-Area street team, standing outside just about every major concert event in the region, handing out free flyers and promotional demo CD’s by the thousands. We were selected to play a date on the Vans Warped Tour 2011 in Mountain View, CA not because of how many Likes we had on our website, but because of the quality of our music. It truly was a dream come true for all of us.
We have been active on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene for about a year now. During that time, we recorded and released our first EP, “Foundations In Sand” which was mixed by Grammy award winner Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday). Our music video for the self-titled track “Foundations In Sand” received a huge response as well.
We pride ourselves in being an extremely hands-on, mature band. With all of us in our mid-twenties or older, and some of us having previous record label experience, we understand what it takes to be a successful band in today’s scene. We thoroughly research every marketing and band business venture before making a decision. We have taken the time and extra efforts to ensure we have built a solid, dedicated fan base in California. Above all, we have realistic expectations of what it takes to be a full-time touring act in today’s music industry
We are now preparing for the release of our full length record entitled “Inevitable Collapse”, due Fall 2011. Our newest single, “Invisible Monster”, and the corresponding music video will be available through iTunes within the coming weeks. We are investing in and executing multiple marketing campaigns for this upcoming release. Expect to see The Even Tide in mainstream magazines such as AP and AMP magazines, as well as on the front page of Purevolume.com. We are very optimistic about our future as a band together and are gearing up to tour full-time. Stay tuned and keep a lookout for The Even Tide in 2011.

Foundations In Sand

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

I tried but I can never trust you
You threw it all away

I won’t say I’m sorry
Cause I meant it from the start
I’ll play the role
But I’ll never play the part
I won’t say I’m sorry
Cause I meant it from the start

Meant it from the start

I tried but I can never trust you
You threw it all away

How many times
Will this be the game we play?

I tried but I can never trust you
You threw it all away

Without trust then what do we have?

I tried, but you know how the saying goes
And I can’t throw you very far

I tried but I can never trust you
Without trust then what do we have?
Cause I will never trust you again

The Courteous End

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

I hope you choke on every word you say
Your reasons don’t make this ok
Who are you convincing?

I can’t just say goodbye like you do
I won’t just walk way
Like you do, you do
Your love is a four letter word, baby
Your love is a four letter lie

I’m way too tired to fight, So ill fake it
I’ll hold you through the night. Like we’ll make it
I hope someday you’ll make up your mind
But I won’t be standing here, waiting on a line
I hope someday you make up your mind
Well I won’t hold my breath while you decide

I can’t just say goodbye like you do
I won’t just walk way
Like you do, you do
Your love is a four letter word, baby
Your love is a four letter lie
And I can’t just say goodbye

I’m never enough
It’s hard to never care
But you do it oh so well
You’ve given up
That’s not enough for me

I can’t just say goodbye like you do
I won’t just walk way
Like you do, you do
Your love is a four letter word, baby
Your love is a four letter lie
I can’t just say goodbye

Honesty of Drowning

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

You go down like a captain
Preserving your pride

I’ve always know your pride
Would be your biggest fall
You sound the alarm
When nothing’s wrong at all

You go down like a captain
Preserving your pride
While the whole crew made it out alive
You go down like a captain
When all hope is lost
You won’t find your shelter here

You’re stalled and frantic
Yet so pedantic
It’s a miracle you have your sight at all
You’re lost in transit
Don’t start to panic
You might just make it out of this alive

You might just make it out ALIVE

This is
The honesty of drowning

You go down like a captain
Preserving your pride
While the whole crew made it out alive
You go down like a captain
When all hope is lost
You won’t find your shelter here

You won’t find it in here

No Faith

Written By: Eric Denniston

You are so, You hoped invisible
Alone original
Amazing how youre caving into
absolutely nothing
Still you'll always be alarmed
That your world will fall apart
You cant revive anything

No faith, no faith at all
Even in the one you call
Apon when you fall
And everyone else is gone

A table full of guilt
Caged in a room full of filth
Its hazy as the blaze enhances
Absolutely nothing
Still you'll always be alarmed
That your world will fall apart
You cant revive anything

No faith, no faith at all
Even in the one you call
Apon when you fall
And everyone else is gone

Sleep and we'll all be released
At least until you leave
At least until you've seen reality behind this dream
And we will all be released at least until you leave
At least until you've seen reality

No faith, no faith at all
Even in the one you call
Apon when you fall
And everyone else is gone

Socialphobia

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

You walk like you got it figured out
But i know

You're a fake, You're a fake
And everyone can see
Your plastic personality

It seems, in order to survive
We have to hide, We have to hide

Paint your face something relevant
Don't let anyone see you
For who you really are
For who you really are

I'm a mess, I'm a mess
When you're not here with me
You're my twisted little missing piece

It seems, in order to survive
We have to hide, We have to hide

Paint your face something relevant
Don't let anyone see you
For who you really are

Isn't it funny
That the ones who get close
Are the ones we fear the most?

I cant hide, anymore
I cant hide it

It seems, in order to survive
We have to hide, We have to hide

Paint your face something relevant
Don't let anyone see you
For who you really are

For who you really are

Truth be told

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

Turn yourself around
This place is full of sickness
And I’m too far gone

Tonight we’ll change your mind
The truth will burn a path through dark
With words like sparks to ignite

Save yourself
This oxygen is poison
It’s killing me

Tonight we’ll change your mind
The truth will burn a path through dark
With words like sparks to ignite

Truth be told I miss you
I wish it didn’t have to be like this

The truth is out there

Invisible Monster

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

You’re a perfect wrapped package
So strong in stride
You’re appearance is flawless
But there’s nothing left inside
You say that you’re trying
Well so am I
And your good intentions
Won’t turn away the tide

When you say
That you have got yourself all figured out
Then I know, that is just a lie
You parade like no one else can see the face you hide
What’s really behind
Your disguise

You pressure the hinges until they break
Then stand there in wonder
When the doors blow off the place
I should’ve seen the warnings
Should have seen the signs
To the monster you have hiding
Behind that nice disguise

When you say
That you have got yourself all figured out
Then I know, that is just a lie
You parade like no one else can see the face you hide
What’s really behind
Your disguise

I should know better
I should know better than this
How long do you plan on hiding yourself here in plain sight

Your disguise

The Escape Route

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

I’ve grown so tired
Of the same old city streets
Anywhere must be better
I’ve got you, let’s just see
How far this ride will go

We can hide where no one knows my name

We might be lost
But as long as I’ve got you
I’m home
As long as I’ve got you

So here we are
Holding onto hope
And the chance to start again
Let’s leave this town, forever
To where the sun still shines

We might be lost
But as long as I’ve got you
I’m home
As long as I’ve got you

There’s no end in sight
So let’s enjoy tonight

Breakthrough

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

Your eyes look sad
Even though you’re smiling
Your heart still beats
But you don’t look alive to me

You can waste a whole lifetime
Neutral on a moving train
It’s not so simple as you’re the victim
And everyone else is to blame

These words seem forced
Even though its honesty
I believe every word
Like you would never lie to me

You can waste a lifetime
Neutral on a moving train
It’s not so simple as you’re the victim
And everyone else is to blame

I’m not the reason that you can seem to launch
I’m not the reason, I won’t be at fault

Everyone else is to blame

Deja Vous

Written By: Andrew DeNeef

You say never like you’ve never said it before
But you forget I know you better than that
Maybe It’s better that we cut our losses and run
So don’t look back because this time I’m done

I’m done listening to you

It’s the same thing we always do
But we deny it
We deny it, we deny it
Its déjà vous

We tried for closure but fell back in instead
The same mistakes made in the same bed
It’s sweet and bitter that we’re back here at square one
You know it’s wrong but It’s better than alone

It’s the same thing we always do
But we deny it
We deny it, we deny it
Its déjà vous
