The Exchange came together in the Summer of 2011, formed from a group of former Music GCSE students from Reading. Their first ever gig proved to be so successful that they were fully booked for the following eleven weeks, almost instantly. The Exchange were even interviewed by local press days after the success of their first live performance.
The Exchange had planned to record and release their debut E.P in early 2012 however time was scarce as the band were entered into "Berkshire Battle of The Bands' and needed the time to prepare. This proved to be a wise move as they were voted joint 1st in Round 1 and again in Round 2. This meant that The Exchange were into the Berkshire Final. The Final took place on March 29th and after an energetic, animated set they were announced County Champions by a panel of independent judges. Due to this they are entitled to showcase their songs to music industry scouts in milton keynes as well as free recording time to produce their debut E.P!
