The Express

So who the heck are The Express? First of all we have Ryan Hancock on guitar and lead vocals. At the age of 21, he was brought up listening to Aerosmith, AC/DC, Steve Earl, and anything else he could find in his dads cassette collection. Ryan is an avid reader and spends a lot of his spare time deep in the pages of a good book. He is also a closet video gamer but is way too cool to admit that himself. The second half of the creative writing team is Danon Hennessey on drums and vocals. At 20, he has a love for all thing classic rock, ESPECIALLY the 60s. Bands like The Doors, The Band, and Jimi Hendrix are what Danon digs. He also has an unholy love for KISS, but we dont talk about that. Both Ryan and Danon went to the Toronto Film School, and Danon still loves making short films and working with cameras. So what does a smorgasborg of musical tastes like these sound like combined? Well you might be surprised. The major musical influences on The Express are Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Barenaked Ladies, Sloan, and any of the great song writers. The music is always easy to listen to, great to dance to, and fun to sing along with. The Express has taken the style of folk story telling and given it their own unique twist. Just recently as the band has been branching out into playing larger live venues, they are expanding the group by bringing in long-time friend and former band mate, Mike Eagles, on bass guitar. These three guys have been playing music together for over 6 years in different acts with hundreds of performances combined. Even though this particular act is new, the group is already an experienced, comfortable act who love playing together. So who the heck are The Express you say? Well, hopefully in the near future everybody will know.
