Bio

Glenn Simmons is from Newfoundland, Canada's most easterly province and the closest point of North America to Europe. Newfoundland has a strong cultural connection to England and Ireland and has obviously been washed over by American music. Anglo-American may best describe Simmons' cultural heritage and his music.
Simmons has been successfully working in Atlantic Canada as a singer/musician/songwriter/producer for 35 years. He's worked on countless records, toured Canada many, many times; been to Europe and has done two tours in Afghanistan performing for the Canadian and NATO troops in Kandahar and Kabul.

More recently he's focussed on his song writing. His material appeared on 4 albums released by his Celtic
/Rock group The Fables over the last 12 years, and at the tender age of 56 he released his first solo album, a Rock/Pop offering called Sweet Vanilla...and Assorted Flavours. It's an eclectic mix of life - pop/rock/jazz/blues - consisting of 11 original songs with well thought out, meaningful lyrics, interesting arrangements, and strong vocals. This album plays cohesively from beginning to end, music lovers won't want to skip a single track for each has its own definite personality -- this is not the same song played 11 times.
