"The Fabulous Miss Wendy Live At the Whisky"

So this kid I met in town who plays a mean-ass guitar called and said, “I’m playing at The Whisky. You want a ticket?” "Yeah, sure." She’s a neat kid and has a lotta talent so what the hell? If nothing else, maybe The Stones’ll show up. You never know man, ya’ know? So, having decided I was too damned tired to go out on a Tuesday night after putting in a 10 hour day at the studio (one that started at 5 am I might add, when I dragged my old bones out of bed), I told my roomie T, “Fuck it. There’s no way in hell I’m going to the Strip for a maybe-close-to-9 pm show and getting up at 5 again tomorrow. I’m going to bed.” To which she replied, “Nooooo! You promised her! Come on, I’ll drive.” And so we went. (I really hate it when she's right.)

But I am ever-grateful to T for that kick in the ass. What a show! We sat through some really awful shite for the first hour. I drank my scotch and stared at the wall while trying to understand what these kids thought was so great about the off-key laments issuing from a not-unattractive but very untalented front man leaping ‘round the stage like a demented Rod Stewart. Their set eventually ended much to my joy and the audience hit the bar or the street for a much-needed smoke while The Fabulous Miss Wendy stepped up to do sound checks. I got another scotch and noticed T had disappeared into the throng so I planted myself against a pole near the door and waited.

There weren’t a lot of folks on the floor and those that were seemed interested in milling around trying to find the exit which shouldn’t have been too tough as it was right there but I chalked that up to brain lesions forced upon them by the previous act. Then the band was announced to scattered and polite applause. “Oh boy,” I thought, “this is gonna be rough.” Wendy stepped up to the mic and never said hello. She just looked out into the house and gave a little smile. Closing her eyes a moment, she caressed the Fender, then slammed into the opening number and claimed the place as her own. I watched the kids snap their heads around to see where that opening riff had come from. The old tigers (like me) got wide-eyed and left their drinks unattended on the bar to walk out onto the floor or over to the upstairs rail and check it out. Cigarettes were thrown, half smoked into the gutter as the outside crowd literally rushed back in to see and hear what they were missing.
It was beautiful.

By the time drummer Dylan Howard counted the band down into the second number the floor was packed and all eyes were glued to the petite brunette in the elegant black gown with cool-ass red streaks in her gorgeous long locks and a voice that will blow you out of the last row in the third balcony. She had ‘em tight and there they stayed through the last number when she surprised me (and everyone else) by stepping delicately out of her evening attire and disappearing under the grasping hands of some very cute goth kids who had slipped onto the stage unnoticed until now. The crowd at the world-famous Whisky a Go Go went nuts.

Since then I’ve made it my business to catch this band live wherever they play ‘cause it’s the most fun I’ve had at a show since Faces played The Filmore East ‘way back in the day. Fresh, original, hard-rockin’ songs all from the mind of The Fabulous Miss Wendy: check her out at

"TFMW Whisky A Go Go"

On the recommendation of Rock and Roll’s Original Gangster, Kim Fowley, we went to check out the Fabulous Miss Wendy at the Whisky on the first Saturday night of July.

Mr. Kim met Miss Wendy at this year’s SXSW. According to him, she is the real deal. “She was the only person I met there that was all business.” FYI, one of Rock’s longstanding battles was ended recently when Cherie Currie of the Runaways did a kiss-and-make up with Fowley at a party held at Houdini’s Mansion. It’s magic. For real, it’s on his blog.

Described by Fowley, Miss Wendy is a “Slut Rock Extraordinaire,” which translates to she sings, she plays, she writes and she rocks. Set time was pushed back twice (typical Whisky) so by the time TFMW hit the stage her fans were chomping at the bit.

The guitar, furry strap and amp were all shocking pink and her boots were burgundy. The black tube top topped a black tube skirt with a long dangling rhinestone choker that dusted the floor. Wendy has huge eyes that she blinked, winked and rolled. The effect was stunning.

With a perfect Pop-Punk Princess Cutie Pie voice Miss Wendy is reminiscent of Josie Cotton and the Go Gos’ giggling purr mixed with a tough Rocker Grrrrl growl like Joan Jett and Chrissie Hynde.

Opening and closing songs were sung to playback while the rest of her set was backed up by two very sleek players on bass and guitar. Break out song was “Bitch, Bitch, Bitch” dedicated to our president. Cute. She writes little movies, lyrics work like screenplays of misguided love, sex and anger and fun. Lots and lots of fun. She really sells it.

Wendy’s big finish was “Fabulous” her signature song where she stripped down to her beige undies screaming “Call me Fabulous.” OK, we will.

"Punk Goddess"

Sexy AND Talented: Punk Rock's Newest Goddess, The Fabulous Miss Wendy

This twenty-two -year-old bursts onto the scene with a "fabulous" self-titled debut album

Hollywood, CA, October 21 2009 -Watch out, Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani-there's a new punk rock princess in town, and her name is The Fabulous Miss Wendy. And while Revolver magazine called her "the sexiest rock star ever," the real news is the talent for singing, songwriting and guitar she brings to her catchy, addictive brand of punk-rock-pop with an edge.

Inspired by old-school punk acts like the Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, and The Ramones, Los Angeles-native Wendy picked up a guitar at the age of ten. A few years later, she beat out hundreds of other girls to nab the lead spot in a Nickelodeon all-girl rock band, where she met future TFMW bassist/keyboardist Claire Elizabeth. After finishing high school, The Fabulous Miss Wendy really got busy: she attended the Musician's Institute in Hollywood, traveled to Iraq to play for U.S. troops, made it to third place in the U.S. "World Battle of the Bands" Competition, and won a VH1 Recommended Artist Award-and, of course, wrote and recorded all ten tracks of her debut album.

Wendy describes her self-titled debut as a "coming of age story" about a young girl's journey through adolescence and troubled relationships. The sound is all sassy, punky fun, with a splash of Seattle grunge rock, while the lyrics, according to SugarBuzz magazine, "work like screenplays of misguided love, sex and anger and fun."

The Fabulous Miss Wendy's first album was produced by Devo's Jerry Casale and features NIN, Weezer and A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese. For her live performances, Wendy needed backup musicians of equal caliber, so she called on fellow Nickelodeon band member Claire Elizabeth to play bass. Wendy's manager, former A&R guru of Geffen Records Tom Zutaut, recruited Sean Winchester on drums, and her mentor/ supporter, L.A. music icon Kim Fowley, suggested rhythm guitarist Gretel . With this talented trio behind her, Wendy puts her lead guitar and vocal talent on display for shows at famed L.A. venues like The Whisky, The Dragonfly and The Keyclub.

In addition to her kickass live performances, The Fab Miss Wendy has also grabbed the attention of radio and TV stations and rock critics. Famed L.A. radio stations KROQ and Indie 103.1, as well as The Monkey in Seattle and Sirius Satellite Radio, have all spun Wendy's tunes. Six of the debut album's tracks have been played on VH1 Shows, and TFMW also performed on B In Tune TV to a national audience of more than 200 million households. And Miss Wendy's received shout-outs in Revolver, LA Weekly, Lost Anarchy Magazine, Fringe Magazine, NME, Rock City News, and CDBaby (they're the ones who warned Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani to "start running immediately").

No question about it-The Fabulous Miss Wendy is going places. You can check out her music at www.thefabulousmisswendy.com and www.myspace.com/thefabulousmisswendy. Her debut CD is available at iTunes, and she'll be performing live at The Cat Club in Hollywood on October 24th. - Indie E-Zine

"CD Baby Reviews"

I hope you like hard rock and punk... and are not easily offended... This is no mellow, soulful, acoustic act. Although Wendy does write all of her own songs, and play the guitar, this power trio is anything but relaxing. If you like great songs, great hooks, clever lyrics, crazy stage shows, ass kicking rock and roll, and sex, you will love The Fabulous Miss Wendy... If you are old, tired, bored, jaded, bitter, jealous, lame, or pathetic, please turn back now before it is too late. Thank you....

I had an indescribable pull toward this CD from the first riff. A mix between angst and sexual tension, The Fabulous Miss Wendy leads her punk band with a force that needs to be reckoned with. Sweet harmonies back her gritty lyrics and will leave you on your knees begging for more. ***YOU BETTER PAY ATTENTION-THESE KIDS ARE THE NEXT BIG THING!***

Bio

For Hollywood-based rocker The Fabulous Miss Wendy, comparison to iconic female musicians is nothing new. Hollywoods punk rock princess, The Fabulous Miss Wendy is already the sexiest rock star ever, according to Revolver Magazine. Wendy has come a long way since picking up a guitar at the age of ten, and became a virtuoso by the age of 12, inspired by old-school punk acts like the Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, and The Ramones, and driven by her commitment of never taking "no" for an answer, she commandeered fledgling talent, forming and playing in several bands during her scandalous high school years. Her classmates voted her "most likely to be a Rock Star. How

dead on they were!

"The Fabulous Miss Wendy" continued perseverance through the trenches of the Music Industry is inspired by her own mission to inspire generations of girls all over the world to follow their dreams, and prove Rock n Roll is not only a Mans World.

TFMW went on to beat out hundreds of other girls to nab the lead spot in a Nickelodeon all-girl rock band, but thefearless young Rocker opted for the Musicians Institute in Hollywood where she really spread her wings - or at very least sharpened her cute little horns. Her intense energy, powerhouse vocals, and calculated songwriting skills sent her soaring to the head of the class, earning her the opportunity to carry her RNR message to the American troops stationed overseas in Baghdad, Iraq on 2 musical tours of duty. Upon her return, Wendy finished third in the United States' "World Battle of the Bands Competition" and won a VH-1 Recommended Artist Award.

Wendy also garnered attention from Revolver Magazine and, in turn, earned a spot as one of the ten finalists to become Gibson Guitars SG Gal, and, as if thats not enough, her video I Like Boys was nominated for LOGOs Ultimate Sexiest Videos weekly contest beside videos by Ciara, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, the Pussycat Dolls, and more.

Having accomplished incredible milestones by the time she reached the legal drinking age, "The Fabulous Miss Wendy" has an undeniable stage presence that demands your attention, whether you want to give it or not, flailing her axe as though its a long-lost limb, delivering an imaginative musical viciousness. Dont let the cute smile fool you.

In 2011 Wendy released her debut, self-titled, LP, Produced by Devo's Gerald Casale, engineered by Goo Goo Dolls' wizard, Paul David Hagar, also of Avril Lavigne and All American Rejects fame, and driven by the fiercepounding ofsuper-drummer, Josh Freese. Of the albums 10 tracks, VH1 chose to use 6 on successful hit shows The Pick-Up Artistand Tough Love.

Perhaps the biggest honor was when Rock God SLASH surprised audiences nationwide by agreeing The Fabulous Miss Wendy was the perfect artist to join him on tour, giving her the phenomenal opportunity for her to perform for the rabid rock fans across the country, gaining the respect and admiration that only the greatest musicians receive. She also had the opportunity to support with UFO, Green Jello and punk Rock icons Nashville Pussy, after the tour, she herself became the guitarist for Green Jello.

At 2012 & 2013 NAMM, The Pink haired Punk-Rock go-getter strapped on her CHEETAH guitar, and mesmerized audiences with her unforgettable guitar riffs at the GMP Guitar booth and was a featured artist in the RocknRoll Industries Magazine in both December 2011 and the Special NAMM Edition 30th Anniversary Tribute to Randy Rhoads issue that made its debut at the NAMM show and made its way to thousands of rock n roll fans worldwide.

Most recently, she teamed up with legendary music producer Kim Fowley (Of Runaways, KISS, and Alice Cooper fame) to produce her third album "No One Can Stop Me". Her Music Video "Jailbait, debuted at #1 on the Japanese Video Charts and was the #2 Music Video in Japan for all of 2012.

Wendy is an artist that is the true definition of The Total Package and, she will continue to leave her undeniable mark on the Rock world for years to come.
