Bio

The Fabulous Tone Masters have spent the last couple of years honing their sound in and around Northumberland County and are now in the process of completing their debut album for release in early 2009. This will include some classics and original new material from the band. They are ready for the next step up the ladder!
Most recently the band has been chosen as part of the Toronto Blues Society's Talent Search and will perform at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto on August 14th.
THE FABULOUS TONE MASTERS are:
GERRY ARCHER: (Guitar & Vocals) - From Motown to Chicago style electric blues, to his most important influence, Jimi Hendrix, Gerry has the passion and drive to make you listen, with both interest and anticipation of what he is going to do next. One of those few musicians that will let his guitar speak for him, and when it comes time to move you, not too many will do as good a job as this guy! It's clear he loves his craft! He is well aware that the spaces, like the breathing of a singer, are just as important as the notes played. This bandleader will not forsake the groove for showboating. Gerry has been playing since the age of thirteen, and does not show any signs of slowing down, always looking for that perfect 'tone' to suit the tune, mood or those pieces of gear that will help him achieve the sound in his head. Fronting the band wasn't what he wanted, nor did it start out that way. "I just wanted to be a guitar player. But the singers all kind of disappeared one by one, and I was the only one left that knew the words!"
MONTY FLINDALL: (Drums & Vocals) - Monty has been playing his drums, singing and recordings since age 12. He has performed on the road across Canada and in Europe with the O.P.P. Bear Hug Band (1997 - 2003). Performing professionally since 1984, Monty has had the opportunity to play his drums as a freelance musician with such artists as: John Landry, Aiden McGill, O.P.P Bear Hug Band, Sawmill Road, Neon Moon, Quick Silver just to name a few. Monty also runs a recording studio - Shirmont Recording Studios in Cobourg, Ontario and has several releases of his own and has played on many artists' recordings.
VINCE RUTTAN: (Bass & Vocals) - Vince is a seasoned musician. Country, blues, swing and folk, Vince has played it all. Projects include: The Big Easy 7, Urban Angel and The Greg Hannah Band. Playing with serious musicians is something that Vince enjoys most with The Fabulous Tone Masters.
