The Factories

BandPopRock

The Factories is an pop rock band whose inception began when two brothers from Cincinnati, Ohio began collaborating in the fall of 2004.

Biography

The Factories is a unique blend of pop rock with three part vocal harmonies and guitar driven melodies. The band draws from diverse influences that range from Bob Dylan to Incubus. And, the bands recent home recordings have been compared to the Doves. The Factories formed when brothers, John and Luke, worked on the saw line of an acrylic factory to save money for studio time. Since then, they have produced a three song album with the help of Ric Hordinski and Richard Dodd, put together a six piece band, and have been growing a following in the greater Cincinnati area.

Lyrics

All Lies

Written By: Luke Grgas

Oh you laugh while you talk what does it mean? / Sarcasm I think but you’re hard to read / Why in this conversation don’t we say / what we mean? / Calm down here aren’t we friends / You can’t win an argument haven’t you heard / That a war with words is futile we’re all entrenched / Yea Yea / Cause they’re all lies what you’ve been told / They’re not true at all / Cause they’re all lies what you been told / They’re not true at all / No / As you slowly lean back in your chair / Another sip fuels your protest / You’d like to believe your parents / Their stolen opinions are on your lips / You can’t win an argument haven’t you heard / That a war with words is futile we’re all entrenched / Yea Yea / Cause they’re all lies what you’ve been told / They’re not true at all / Cause they’re all lies what you been told
They’re not true at all / Oh / Cause they’re all lies what you’ve been told / They’re not true at all / Oh oh yea / Cause they’re all lies what you been told / They’re not true at all / Cause they’re all lies what you been told / They’re not true at all / Oh

Traffic

Written By: John Grgas

Plodding along in traffic / Listen as the cars breath in and out / They can see for miles / Their horizons are never new / Look at the sea of rooftops / Watch them as they drown in the smog / How could they plan it better? / Then to be here, right now / Everybody is going somewhere / Going somewhere fast / Everybody is going nowhere /Going nowhere fast / They’re ten over the limit / Panicked to get home just to relax / How do the lines on the road keep you in the right track? / Take a look at the car wreak / It’s times like this when you loose control / Sitting still in traffic / But the jaws of life won’t save your soul / Everybody is going somewhere / Going somewhere fast / Everybody is going nowhere / Going nowhere fast

Falling

Written By: Luke Grgas

Who could have know when you were born / That you would grow into your name / And though you left me it doesn’t discredit / You gave me more chances than I deserved / And I may never find someone like you again / No / And don’t you know your happiness was all to me / He’ll care for you better than I ever could / Admit the half-truth when you said, “I didn’t leave you for him” / A part of you loved him all along / You take a piece of me / I’ll take a piece of you then we’ll part our ways / You say to love you I must let you go / so I’ll say goodbye / No letters no phone calls / Cause your dead to me anyhow / Five months later you invited me / I don’t know why / I went but it was good for me / A raining wedding a funeral in my mind / I loved you dearly but I buried you that day / You take a piece of me / I’ll take a piece of you then we’ll part our ways Yea / I wouldn’t trade it Oh for anything it meant so much to me / You say to love you I must let you go so I’ll say goodbye / No letters no phone calls / Cause your dead to me anyhow / So now I know what it’s like to fall from grace / So now you know what it’s like to fall from grace
