The Fallen Arches

The Fallen Arches

BandRockPunk

we dont think we sound like anyone really we have been compared to some punk bands and some rock bands its up to you to decide! our influences include everything from oasis to led zepplin, from the sex pistols to the datsuns, from the rolling stones to the libertines etc

Biography

After the break-up of their previous band, Agent Orange, Ronald Egan, Mikey Hilferty and Jamie Mcphilemy began practicing together in rehearsal studios in Glasgow, without a singer or rhythm guitarist.

Then, one Saturday evening at his local pub, Jamie heard for the first time soon-to-be frontman Andrew Connor singing along to Times Like These by the Foo Fighters on karaoke. He then informed the other two members of his as-yet-nameless band, and they invited Andrew along for practice. From that moment on, they were known as The Fallen Arches, and they went on to record their first demo in November. The demo is reference to an old live favourite we used to play, and is reminiscent of the boys we used to be.

We have our own photographer, Kirstine Hughes, who has put in a great deal of effort to make us look beautiful, and as you can see has taken a variety of fantastic photographs ranging from our live performances to our practice in the studio.

We have a wide range of musical influences in our band, as we all have different musical tastes. Our influences range from The Libertines to Rage Against The Machine, The Sex Pistols to Nirvana. However, we never set out to sound like any of our influences, using our contrasting tastes to try and make a different sound. Mainly though we try and write fun, enjoyable music that we enjoy playing and people enjoy listening to.

On the live performance front we have played numerous gigs throughout Glasgow, with highlights being at the Cathouse and the Glasgow School of Art, to name but a few.

We are currently working on more songs and are hoping to record a new demo by the end of june.

We have also been played the Glasgow University online radio.

Lyrics

Speak Up

Written By: Andrew Connor

Speak up now please I can't hear you
It's driving me out of my mind
There's something that I need to tell you
I think what I say you won't like

And we're falling faster
It just doesn't feel right
Goes over my head
But we're alright

Speak up you say you can't hear me
It's driving you out of your mind
You say you've got something to tell me
Well just go ahead I don't mind

And we're falling faster
It just doesn't feel right
Goes over my head
But we're alrite

Control

Written By: Andrew Connor

Everything is wrong in my head, I'm tired
Been running all day and my legs are on fire
My whole world's out of control
Feels like it spinnig around
Creeping through alleys
The things that still haunt me
They're tearing apart at my heart it's trying to kill me
But my whole world's out of control
feels like I'm falling about

And I feel something falling away from my feet
When I see you I scream
When I hear you I'm Beat
All these things I just take what I want
And I never get caught
It's taking control of me

(repeat that to suit the song)

No Dubiety!

Written By: Jonathan McAveety

What you see is what you get
with me there's no dubiety
That's it now no need to fret
Come on feel my policies

Town to town
In the van
no with a frown
but with a tan
what are you thinking?
do you want more?
your just a stinking
thief next door
gather all your problems for consolidation

What you see is what you get
with me there's no dubiety
That's it now no need to fret
Come on feel my policies

What you see is what you get
with me there's no dubiety
That's it now no need to fret
Come on feel my policies
