The best kept secret in music

"Organ magazine"

"Hey, imagine the B-52s or a garage lo-fi early REM being violated by a Zuno Men or two but somehow managing to hold on to their pop songs. Alright then it's Talkingheads meets Wizards of Twiddly singing about a fly landing on a Caesar salad...Yeah, we should mention those Weezer moments that sound very American, they're as American as apple pie. Hey they sound a bit like They Might Be Giants with a hint of Mr.Bungle warpedness toooooooo. And of course they sound like none of the bands we mentioned in the review just then, you get the general idea though. This is a rather fine album, a pronk rock breeze, you'll like it. Recommended bendy pronk pop warpness." - Sean Lowes

"Powerbunny 4x4"

"Guaranteed to fill Roseland with 1000 frolicking indie kids. Zappa-esque pop with a chili pepper flare. Out there." - Jeff Scavone

Roxy Music, Funk-a-Fun Rock! Most original talent with humor, complete creativity. Rhythm rocks (and is a leading exploitation of this groups talents). If you miss this new band, you have missed one of the best! Vocals are excellent with clues to the overall extreme humor, talent and edge of this "will make it" band. "Happy as a fly" listening to this CD!

Feeling a bit camera shy

Since it's inception, The Family Jewels have painted a black line over the eyes of the music world fusing hip-hop with emotional rock, punk with new wave, cows with turtles. Their unique and ever-evolving sound has earned them the respect of critics abroad who have compared them to the likes of Frank Zappa, Talking Heads, Devo and The Zuno Men (?). Coined as being,"Pop Expansionists",(Joe Darone, Aquarian Weekly) the Jewels push and prod the envelope with creativity, humor, and some of the catchiest hooks known to mankind. With 2 full length records and 2 national tours under their belt, The Family Jewels have played with, and comically outdrawn, acts such as Frankie Goes To Hollywood and King Norris and are currently finishing up it's 3rd studio album, "Chuck and Louise 2", with a tour planned for Fall 2002. Check the band's website for more details as they develop.
