Bio
The Seattle, Washington-based Faradays were formed in 2012 by musicians Marty Mahre & Jim Cliff. Songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Marty Mahre, whose musical roots run nearly three decades deep, is the group’s creative driver. Jim Cliff, a world-class bassist & platinum recording artist, compliments Marty’s style with harmonies & accomplished, melodic bass lines.
The Faradays’ music reflects a wide range of influences & idioms - from songwriting legends Neil & Tim Finn, Chris Difford, Glenn Tilbrook, & Elvis Costello to folk, bluegrass, & 60s-70s-era power pop. On their upcoming LP, you will find a unique collection of songs, including energetic grassroots pop & stripped-down waltzes. The Faradays present well-seasoned intelligent song writing, coupled with distinctive arrangements. Their experience & imagination have combined to create a refreshing take on traditional & modern genres.
At present, The Faradays can be found hard-at-work in the studio, completing their debut LP, collaborating with other local artists & performing in the heart of Seattle’s vibrant music scene.
