The Fat Kids

Strongly influenced by The Motown Sound of the 50's and 60's, The Fat Kids play catchy pop tunes with enough soulful passion to kill that "pop edge".

We're professional young musicians with an ear for tone, melody, vocal harmony and solid rhythm that makes a live show sound and feel truly amazing!

Our influences include: Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Little Richard, Nina Simone, and of course The Beatles. Our more "modern" influences include Amy Winehouse, Gnarles Barkley/Cee-lo, Jamie Lidell, Robin Thicke, The Parliamentary Funkadelic, The Fitz And The Tantrums, Raphael Saadique, Sublime and many, many more.

Although we mainly stick to Motown/Soul/R&B, we are also influenced by such hip-hop and rap artists as: Notorious B.I.G., Nas, DAS EFX, Tupac, Arrested Development, Slick Rick, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, The Ghetto Boys, Lords of the Underground, Outkast, etc.

We are professional, dedicated musicians who are respectful and easy to work with.

We're in our mid-late 20's and are comfortable playing all types of gigs from dive bars to giant festivals, little rock clubs to huge venues and everything in between. We are available for private parties and corporate events and can mix plenty of cool cover songs into our set if desired.

We'd really like to play some cool gigs in interesting places this spring/summer gigging season and are available to open for national touring acts. Our schedule is flexible and we are usually able to travel if doing so is in our best interest.
