The Fear

The Fear

 Halifax, Nova Scotia, CAN

Loud and heavy with a solid sense of harmony. Veering between heavy metal and blues rock with deceptively deep lyrical content.

The Fear has existed in various incarnations since 2003. The current incarnation has been gigging around Halifax, NS for about a year and a half. Influences range from hard rock and metal (Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Clutch, etc) to the eclectic (Herbie Hancock, Funkadelic, The Roots). The Fear exists in a musical grey area. They have a sound that can be compared to many well known heavy bands while still managing to retain their own musical identity.

We are currently in the process of mastering our first EP, tentatively entitled "No Funeral". Hoping to release in the next 6 months.

Set List

Set List (Changes frequently):

For the Sake of a Name
The Asp
I'll Take You
Between Here and Nowhere
The Wrong Indian
Caveman Jesus
The Ballad of Dick Hermes
Trample the Living and Hurdle the Dead
Heart of Darkness

This set usually takes almost an hour and a half as some of the songs are 6-7 minutes plus. We don't usually do covers as a rule but if time permits, we play a cover or two. We have done Frankenstein by the Edgar Winter Group. We've also toyed with Detroit Rock City by Kiss and Children of the Grave by Sabbath. We like to jam onstage as well.
