The Final Goodbye (tfg) started in late 2005 as a solo acoustic project by Atlanta resident Jon Burkhalter. It began accidentally one night when a band at a venue in Columbus, Georgia cancelled and Jon (Johnny) filled in singing the songs he and his friends would write for fun on uneventful summer nights. News spread and Johnny started getting offered shows around the southeast. By fall 2006 Johnny and his pop alter ego, The Final Goodbye, was playing almost every weekend in a venue, coffee shop, or church. In 2007, Johnny put TFG on the shelf to tour full time with a ministry. 2 years passed as well as many miles of late nights in venues across the country seeing broken kids. Johnny knew TFG had to be back in the scene as part of the solution (as a full band project). Now, in 2009, (after the addition of Daniel Gutie, Josh Holley & Josh Jackson) The Final Goodbye has released their first full band EP titled 'Where You Are'. Their single titled 'Loss For Words' debued on the radio, and just finished up their first national tour. The Final Goodbye is not slowing down and is entering 2010 with high hopes of having a break out year! Expect to see TFG hitting your city with southern charm, radio friendly sound, and un-deniable faith. The Final Goodbye's influences stream from across the board from artists such as The Rocket Summer, Rookie Of The Year, Copeland, Relient K & Mae to artists such as Corey Asbury, United, Jesus Culture & more. The Final Goodbye is unlike any other band because they present their sound and their faith in a real way for real people on real platforms, yet their music and personality is loveable and approachable, no matter who you are.
