The Fine-Tuners is comprised of Andrew Touesnard on fiddle and Stephen MacNeil on bass fiddle. Andrew and Stephen come together to recreate traditional Celtic music. The Fine-Tuners entertain crowds ranging from weddings, conventions to performing on Tall Ships with their roots-centered take on Celtic fiddle classics. Andrew Touesnard is a lifelong resident of Spryfield, Nova Scotia. Andrew began fiddle lessons at the age of six with Anthony Reicessco. As a young prodigy, Andrew quickly became a staple on the waterfront busker scene. Playing in the style of Nova Scotia’s Natalie MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac, Andrew makes his fast paced and toe tapping fiddle playing seem effortless. Andrew has appeared in television and film. Stephen MacNeil grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has graduated with a Bachelor of Music, Jazz Studies, from Saint Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Stephen has performed with numerous acts throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec. Stephen is a session bassist on various recordings and is the musical director for a local teenage youth group. The Fine-Tuners were formed in February 2009 when meeting at the Halifax Farmer’s Market. This acoustic duo can be heard every Saturday morning throughout Canada’s longest running farmer’s market at the Keith’s Brewery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. formed in 2009.
