Biography

The Finn MacCools brings power rock to every show, fueled by the greatest Celtic musical traditons from their hometown and around the world. The Finn MacCools combines the fire and mastery of veteran members of the Milwaukee Celtic music scene and takes it to a whole new level.

Dan Smars adds his memorable voice and rich 12-string guitar, igniting blinding flashes of inspiration to the band. He is a veteran of the Milwaukee-area Celtic music scene.

Daniel Brown has appeared with numerous bands up and down the Third Coast. He brings a unique organic style of hand drumming to fan the flames of The Finn MacCools explosive sound.

Jim Kiley is a talented multi-instrumentalist. Jim expertly drives the powerhouse sound of guitar, banjo, and mandolin way past the speed limit.

Tom Hansen has been a staple of the Milwaukee music scene for over 20 years, appearing with acts ranging from True Heart Susie to E.W. Porter and Rockin Horse. His Celtic
fiddle adds a memorable spice to the rock of the Finn MacCools.

Tom Young is a veteran of the Milwaukee Celtic music scene.Tom brings his strong, driving bass guitar to complete the powerful rhythm section of The Finn MacCools.

The Finn MacCools add their fire to centuries-old raditionals, add a powerful spin to favorites by Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, the Pogues, as well as their own inspiring original songs.
