"The Fire and Reason: Shut Up, Dance EP"

Attention all you dirty freeloaders. If you like danceable electropop, check the new free 6 track EP Shut up, Dance by The Fire and Reason. They are a duo from NYC: a guy who wears a Ramones T-Shirt and a girl who likes to dress up. They are about having a good time and with their kind of music that shouldn't be a problem. - Here Comes The Flood Blog

"The Fire and Reason: Shut Up, Dance EP"

The Fire and Reason from NYC are down with their first record release, combining a mixture of rocking flavour and beepy tunes, with a powerful strong female voice, that seem to have the power making the audience scream nonsense and catch single ones losing their will, get naked and rub themselves on the counter.

You can grab it for free if you love to have the alternation and your mind is free for some guitar tunes commanding the Ep called “Shut Up, Dance”. You will be rewarded with 5 blistering new tracks, plus The Toxic Avenger Remix of their song “NME”. The new single “Sugar Koma” is sure to get everyone dancing and singing along “Ooh your candy’s right for my apetite tonight”, a lusty track about eyeing that special someone at the club and whispering in their ear “it’s dangerous what we can do tonight…” -

"The Fire and Reason vs The Toxic Avenger: Distortion Begets Distortion"

The bottom line is The Fire and Reason rock. I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone since The Mooney Suzuki who rock anywhere near as hard as these guys. And what’s more, they add a touch of the industrial to their already hectic sound which might make them my favorite band of recent times. I absolutely love the warmth of the distortion in their leads and Bella’s voice is like a more guttural, No Doubt era Gwen Stefani.

So, what do you do when you’ve got all this going for you? Why its simple. You go out and get an equally hectic distortion laiden, french gentleman, The Toxic Avenger, to take your tune and wind it so tight that, when unleashed, it destroys every dancefloor within 39 miles of the speakers. Toxie managed to keep enough of the original to maintain its hectic energy while adding his own dose of edits and chops to push the tune over the edge, a handsome feat for any remixer. This remix is fantastic.

If you want more of The Fire and Reason head over to iTunes or CDBaby and pick up their self-titled, five track EP. And, according to their myspace, they’re back in the studio again so I’m sure a whole nother dose of high energy rock and roll is due from them very soon. -

The Fire and Reason Bio

"It's no shocker that NY's own electro-clash Svengali, DJ and club impresario, Larry Tee is releasing the debut EP from this fresh-from-the-streets-electro-rock act on his label DJs Are Not Rockstars. A combination of Lower East Side rock chick, '80s Madonna, South American hipster and global jetsetter, Saona has that effortless star quality that sets some electro-rockers a few nothches higher right off the bat. The band has the potential to break electro-rock in the mainstream--they could give the Ting Tings a run for their money." Time Out Chicago Formed in 2006 by Bella Saona(from Brazil) and Steve Narvaez(from Ecuador) The Fire and Reason(TFaR) have made their beats harder, their basslines drrtier and their songs even more decadent than in previous incarnations. Imagine a rabid Karen O singing over tracks written by MSTRKRFT and remixed by JUSTICE! In a major coup TFaR got Parisian THE TOXIC AVENGER to remix their infectious hit "NME", and really put a BIG STOMP in the electro-dance world. Singing in both Spanish (Mi Corazon) and Portuguese (Preste Atençao) TFaR remain true to their Latin roots.

The Fire and Reason have also been discovered by the world of TV and Film and have landed placements in various upcoming projects. From movies to reality shows, their unique blend of ROCK to Baile Funk to Electro-POP Dance, never fails to dissapoint or surprise the listener. Their aptly titled vampire anthem "Teeth" is being used in the upcoming DMX, Micael Madsen, and Vinnie Jones, film "The Bleeding". If this all wasn't exciting enough The Fire and Reason just won the coveted NewNowNext Award for Brink of Fame: Music Artist beating out artist such as: Lykkie Li, Morningwood, LMFAO, Ladyhawke, & Sam Sparro! Last year's winner was LADY GAGA, not a bad path to follow. Keep your eyes out for The Fire and Reason, word on the street is that they are developing their own reality show.....
