Bio
Phil Daniels founded THE FIRES in 2006. He and his brother, Michael Stevens (Guitar), are based in Winkel, a village adjacent to Zurich Airport. Since spring of 2007, they have delighted their audiences and have gained an excellent reputation, including that of being the youngest Rock'n'Roll Band in Europe.
Having given a large number of concerts within Switzerland, the boys managed the leap to the international stage in 2009 when Italy's leading shipping company, Costa, were seeking a young band of just their style to play during the maiden voyage of the Costa Pacifica, also known as the "Music Ship". They found what they were looking for in THE FIRES. The boys' performances made the voyage even more memorable.
As of 2010, the band's career started to grow faster and faster. They played as supporting act of Bon Jovi, Mika, Jerry Lee Lewis, Brian Setzer, Shakin' Stevens and several top Swiss musicians. Many more gigs all over Europe came up. And also starting in 2010, they refined their music style by adding other genres to the classic rock'n'roll.
The average age of the band is 18 years at the moment. All three members origin of Zurich area. Besides of their extensive music activities, three or four band rehearsals of four hours per week and travelling, they all work and graduate at a business school.
The band manages their music and arranges all songs themselves. Their own compositions generally grow from an impulse of Michael's and are developed and written by all 3 band members.
Their third album NEWSCHOOL REVIVAL was produced by the Italian-American producer SerGIO Fertitta, who formerly has worked (amongst many others) with Shaggy, Snoop Dogg, Gianna Nannini and Coolio.
