Bio

Five o’clock Heroes

It is perhaps due to the fact that each member hails from a different location that the Five O'Clock Heroes’ sound, although influenced by, is clearly not limited to the New York City rock scene. They keep it simple with the standard bass, drums and guitars - with melodic vocals to back it up. There are a range of influences evident in their songs, anywhere from Motown to New Wave (Elvis Costello, The Jam and The Police), and all done with the sole intention of giving the people a catchy tune … with a NY twist …

Two parts British and two parts American, the Five O’Clock Heroes’ album Bend To The Breaks is hot off the press. Produced by Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys, The Rapture, Ryan Adams etc), the album’s first UK commercial single ‘Time on my Hands’ was released in the UK in November 2004 on a limited 7” supported by a tranche of dates including shows with hot UK acts THE RAKES and THE PADDINGTONS and the US band THE BRAVERY.

2005 will be the busiest year yet for Five O’clock Heroes with the first UK cd single release of the lead live track RUN TO HER on the 21th March. Their touring prowess has been rewarded with an 8 week run of dates across the UK from the End of January to mid march with The Paddingtons, the Bravery, Eastern Lane and Brendan Benson so far alongside their own club dates and more invitations for shows than they can juggle. A spell back in the States in April will be followed by a UK headline tour around the third single and album release in early summer.
