"Flamingo"

"Vaguely menacing yet seductive basslines, and Julia Rainer's enthralling vocals-like a somewhat less demure Hope Sadoval-curl around your ears like tendrils of intoxicating smoke, and oceans of trippy effects and rhytmns invite you to sink into the cushions and get waaay fucked up. And then from nowhere, furious and searing psychadelic guitars charge in like a police raid to jar you out of your stupor." - Philadelphia Weekly

"Flamingo is whats good about Rock and Roll"

"Flamingo is the last stand in a world of piss poor rock music. With blazing guitars, soothing bass, and thunderous drums.. who'd have anything left for that soulful voice? Drawing inspiration from the greats, but defining a unique sound forged in the mountains of evil, with the ingredients of sex and drugs, this is what rock music will be about in the future. Pure, unwilling to compromise, unapologetic, furious imagery and spinal shattering sound." - College Newspaper

Bio

Labeled as anything from progressive rock, blues, metal, or jam band, Flamingo blends these genres harmoniously in their pioneering sound. All natives of Philadelphia, the band met in their early teens and have been playing music together nationwide ever since. At sixteen, the members of Flamingo recorded their debut EP “Among Ash Heaps and Millionaires” in 2005. After the release of the album, Flamingo developed a following in Philadelphia, and was soon booked to play popular venues such as The Trocadero, the TLA, and World Café Live.

Flamingo is led by the brash, bluesy vocals of Julia Rainer. Guitarists Matt Manser and Andrew Haff capture the crowd with ferocious harmonies and tenacious technical ability. Will Wright brings the smoothness of the blues in the bass lines, and Joe Reno gives the band its energetic rhythm on drums.

Now with six years of live gigging experience, they have played extensively in the Philadelphia area, as well as New York City, and as far reaching as Savannah, Georgia.
