"The Flashcards"

"Like Elvis Costello or Ben Folds. It went in a direction I didn't know it was going but I liked it. They are definitely talented songwriters. Those guys could go far." - Justin Chambers

Bio

Danny Langa and Mark Saul have been bandmates since high school. Their first band "Another Man's Trash" won the 2004 VH1/School of Rock Battle Of The Bands Competition where their prize music video aired (and apparently continues to air) on VH1.

Three years ago, between their current projects, the West Hills, California duo started meeting up again to play songs they had written on acoustic guitars. Eventually they realized there was more to be done with these songs and so, between the two of them, they started recording drums, electric guitars, keyboards and 60s-style back-up harmonies. Channeling the sounds of The Zombies, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elton John, and The Kinks, the young men found themselves with over forty songs.

And so they called up their musician friends, started playing gigs all over Los Angeles, and from then on were known as The Flashcards.

Recently featured on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, The Flashcards have developed a classic pop / electric folk sound with sing-along lyrics, 60s-style harmonies, upbeat guitars, and the occasional organ. Their shows are more like a rousing get-together than a velvet-roped recital.
