Discography

We've not 'released' anything yet, but our music is available for download on iTunes.

Several internet stations have also played our songs 'Something or Nothing' and 'London'

Piers (the writer for the band) writes music for Ads and TV production companies. So far, he's created complete musical works for three programmes broadcast on terrestrial TV stations. He has also had two of his songs used on Indy 500, a racing game that went to number 3 in the US game charts.

Bio

The Fleas’ songs come from places you don’t see on the telly any more, but can still read about in books.

Piers fronts the band, writing a diverse set for the indy five-piece that stretches from doomy, cinematic bossanovas, to indy folk belters and three minute rock anthems.

Finding the right fleas to lock all the different styles together wasn’t easy. It eventually took a Latin twist from two Argentinians to bring the sound together live. Rico teaches guitar, while Mannie is simply a born drummer and showman. They bring their own heady brew of influences from south of the equator, giving the songs a unifying and unique soundscape.

Completing the lineup are the two ladies in the band, Demi on bass and Bernadette on percussion and glockenspiel. Both add an extra vocal dimension reminiscent of The Magic Numbers.

The result is something familiar, yet unique, a bit like We are Scientists, The La’s, Belle & Sebastian, or even 80's bands like Aztec Camera.

With the lineup nicely locking together after six months of gigs, and a rocking little set winning every room they play in London, it’s an itchy year for The Fleas.
