"Unique Voice - Threw it all away"

unique voice
this song's really felt. the vocals are great, they create the mood. the lyrics are cool, they don't sound contrived. i think it's an awesome song.

"Indie"

Indie
This sounds like an indie-Bob Dylan, would be cool with a band. Simple little tune but has a good vibe, very indie-rock - Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie - all that stuff. Good work.

Bio

The Flying Transistors formed in late '99 when singer songwriter Nick Pirnstill teamed up with long time friend Jimi Thomas-Douglas. The two played for almost two years without leaving Nick's attic. Then in late 2001 the two recorded their first single "February Nights." "February Nights" was an instant underground hit; Nick's mellow voice and heart felt lyrics matched with Jimi's unique song style made the two an unbeatable pair. After gigging around Ohio for over a year and releasing a second single "Forgotten You" the two decided to take a break and finish school. In late 2003 Nick and Jimi picked up their guitars and hit the studio to record their much anticipated debut album, Welcome to Reality. The groundbreaking CD will be released in early 2004. The first single from Welcome to Reality; "Where Were You?" will be released shortly before the album, so look for the sample very soon. The Flying Transistors will be on the road in 2004 supporting their release.

Our best asset is our live show. We love to be in front of a crowd, and crowd's love to be in front of us. If we play acoustic or plugged in, we can always capture the mood of the audience and they always have a great time. We love to play but more important than that, we're good. We can play three nights in a row and never repeat the same song. Even when we did the pre-production recording of "Welcome To Reality" we wouldn't stop until they were almost final pressing quality even though we knew we were going to re-record the entire CD. We don't like to be second best at anything, so we work hard at looking and sounding better than any other band we play with. We have started playing more electric shows and this has just made our fan base grow with each show. Now we can draw a great crowd to a coffee house for a mellow acoustic night, or an all out rock-n-roll show at the club. We have been doing what we do for years, and both Nick and I (Jimi) are dedicated to playing our music in front of as many people as we can.
