"The Fly Right Sisters led the audience through a history of vocal swing music with tight harmonies and delightful lyrics. They were, in their way, the boldest act of the Festival. They relied on nothing but their three voices to create the harmony, timing and swing that's essential to a jazz set. They succeeded beautifully." - Piedmont Post, Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Bio
The Fly Right Sisters were formed in 2008, with the idea of bringing back swing tunes from the golden age of jazz. Our band is composed of three vocalists, all of whom have sung in many local choral ensembles. Kathleen finesses the high notes, while Bonnie adds her strong mezzo to the middle part, and Rachel rounds out the sound with her low, rich contralto. Lately, we have introduced ukelele accompaniment with several of our tunes. Our group is heavily influenced by the masters of swing, such as the Boswell Sisters, the Andrews Sisters, Louis Jordan, Eddie Cantor, Glenn Miller and Jelly Roll Morton as well as a touch of Latin influence. The Sisters' song, style and swing will take you back to the 1920's, 30's and 40's, while original arrangements and contemporary cultural references make these vintage tunes resonate with today's audiences. The Fly Right Sisters have performed at numerous events and venues throughout the Bay Area.
