Bio
The Folk and Country Line is based in Halifax, Canada and started in 2015. Their songwriting influences include The Strumbellas, Mumford and Sons, as well as traditional East Coast folk music. Their lyrics focus on storytelling and are
accompanied by haunting melodies and flowing harmonies. Their themes evoke memories of the Wild West, the ocean and the yearning of the itinerant spirit. This provides a unique alternative listening experience by blending western country
motifs with a traditional folk feel. They
have performed extensively across the province of Nova Scotia; their favorite venues
include The Company House, The Seahorse Tavern, and The Carleton. To date they have released two albums: the EP "Travelling With Strangers" (2016) and the LP "This Can't Last" (2017). They plan to release a third album in 2020.
The current band members are:
Robbie Graham (guitar, vocals, songwriting)
Kayla Ryan (violin, vocals, songwriting)
Gene Huh (piano, vocals)
Dwight Roberts (bass)
Mike Kempt (drums)
