The Fontanas

BandWorldFunk

Heavy weight Brazilian Funk and ska that leaves even the most rigid of audiences bouncing around like carnival come early. Infectious and totally feel good!

Biography

Hand picked by six degrees of separation, 'The Fontanas' cut their teeth at their monthly residency at west London's Ginglik club. Their energetic live set serves up a progression of upbeat tunes that gets even the most rigid of audiences bouncing around like carnival come early. Infectious and feel good.

Their hotly anticipated new album: 'Return Of The Fontanas' has a catalogue of tracks ranging from Brazilian grooves to funk-fuelled anthems that blow the doors off. With influences scattered across the globe, the music finds its roots in the foothills of Brazil and Jamaica, but defines its sound from its urban home in West London.

Appearing on the album is vocalist Heidi Levo, who performs with The Cinematic Orchestra. Frank Walden of Amy Whinehouse's band and Nick Etwell who performs with Spiritualised. Co-writers on this debut release include Andy Hughes, founder member of the Orb, (Little Fluffy Clouds). Ska'd for Life features cuts from DMC finalist DJ-Gizroc, founder member of The Mixologists. The list goes on, but the end result is a super charged album of tracks that aims to please.
