Bio
I've spent my whole life singing. It wasn't until the summer before 8th grade that I picked up an acoustic guitar and taught myself how to play so I could have music backing up the lyrics I had been writing since I was 11. After being in several unsuccessful rock bands, I formed The Foreground in late 2005. It was originally composed of me (vocals/guitar), my brother Skitch (piano/2nd guitar/back up vocals), and percussionist Dave Daniel. After a three year effort as a band with the release of a short acoustic EP (Just This Once) and a 13 track LP (Under the Influence), I decided to continue with my project in solitude. My dream is to reach out to as many people as I can with my music, and I felt the best way to do that was to proceed on my own.
I think the things that set me apart from other artists are my hard hitting vocals and the dynamics of my songs. For example: one thing I'm known for is having a crazy build-up right before the final chorus of a lot of my songs. I feel that throwing dynamics like that in my songs gets the listeners more emotionally into the music, thereby influencing them on an entirely different level.
