Bio
In the late spring of 2008, Matt Konrad returned to his home in the DFW area after spending a few years exploring the sights and sounds of Chicago. While in Illinois, he had been writing his first thematic album, Cupid's Handgun. At the end of that summer he approached an old high school friend, David Louthen, asking him to produce the record, to which David agreed without hesitation. They later brought on Andrew Franks, another mutual friend from high school, and Craig Gardner, who met David during their time in college.
Austin Gotcher, Matt's co-worker, was brought on as full-time drummer in October of 2009 and after moving to a new home studio, the album got underway and Cupid's Handgun was released in June of 2011.
Their style is inspired by artists Matt grew up listening to; such as Alkaline Trio and early Fall Out Boy, but takes on its own personality by introducing slightly heavier guitar riffs, three part harmonies, and lyrics that cover more mature themes such as organized rebellion and issues surrounding suicide.
