The Forward

The Forward

BandRockAlternative

Indie Rock in the vein of bands like the Replacements. Smart and catchy songs, artful lyrics, and just a touch of tongue-in-cheek darkness.

Biography

Forming in early 2005, The forward began with the intention to craft an artful, hooky and versatile album that was more then a typical “L.A Demo.” Described as guitar-driven rock in the vein of Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, Interpol and The Replacements, The Forward is attempting to create a niche in the genre, and reach for national success.

Using their previous touring and major label experience, frontman Leonard Jackson and Ian Schaeffer put together a vision of a rock band with lasting appeal. Smart and catchy songs, real-life lyrics, and just a touch of tongue-in-cheek darkness all came together to make The Forward a versatile, interesting and entertaining act.

The band has signed with ATN Management and quickly began building a stable base. With 3 showcases at the 2007 South by Southwest Festival, appearances on internet TV such as musicplustv.com, and with promotional help from Jon Flanagan Promotions, The Foward has received adds on numerous stations throughout the West Coast Region including:
