Bio

Chris Brandnew is a native of Chicago's South Suburbs. His eclectic musical roots started at age 11 in Middle School Symphonic Band, but it was High School where he blossomed and became a Drum/Section Leader mastering various instruments including Clarinet, and Piano. His style mixes Jazz chords with upbeat, 808 drums and modern instruments and synthesizers. Brandnew began to produce and rap around the age of 15 and has progressed tremendously since. In 2009 Brandnew released “Da Come Up” his underground break out Mixtape that illustrated independence, personality, and solidified his solo career. Also, in 2009 Chris was featured on the underground Compilation Album, “Still Grinding.” In 2010, Chris along with fellow rap mates, 1-3 The Jinx, Juice Dahusla, and Corey Fizzle released "The Takeova" a Chicago based Mixtape receiving strong support and fans. Following that campaign, In 2010 Brandnew Co-Produced 1-3 The Jinx's, Friday The 13th Mixtape. In 2011, Chris took his business to new heights by obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. In 2012, along with Partner Diesel Ruckus he founded Brody Entertainment in efforts to provide quality music and excellent business opportunities to the community. Brandnew's latest triumph, Executively Producing Juice Dahusla's, "ChuckTown The Mixtape" was released August 21, 2012 on DatPiff.com. Featured on the project is Brandnew’s single “What You Bout” infused with his signature grind mode and hustle time musical themes. Currently Brandnew is gearing up with 1-3 The Jinx to release the highly anticipated mixtape "Loose Squares" in 2013. His greatest influences are producers Dr. Dre, Neptunes, Mannie Fresh, Kanye West, and artists Ludacris, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, T. I., and Tupac.

1-3 the Jinx comes from Chicago Heights, Illinois. His roots in rap music started at age 7 where he freestyled for the first time and discovered his knack for rhyming. He wrote his first song at the age of 13. At the age of 16, 1-3 decided to pursue his music publically, donning the moniker “1-3 the Jinx” in reference to his affinity for the number thirteen and believing himself to be “Bad luck for wack rappers.” In 2005, he finished an underground project dubbed “Janky” which established his status his reputation for being creative and a solid lyricist. In 2010 he teamed up with his fellow rappers Chris Brandnew, Juice Dahusla, and Corey Fizzle to release “Tha Takeova” which received solid support from fans. Also in 2010 he released his first official mixtape “Friday the 13th” which only further cemented his reputation as a gifted writer and lyricist. Songs like “Spell it Out” showed his knack for concept songs, and various freestyles showcased his natural rapping talents. In 2011 he unofficially released his second mixtape “Creepshow”, which was a darker themed mixtape, unlike anything he had done prior to it. His style of rap varies, but tends to lean toward pure, aggressive lyricism in the shadows of MCs like Eminem, TI, Method Man, and Andre 3000, just to name a few. 1-3 is currently working on multiple projects, the first of which to be released is “Loose Squares”, a collaborative project with Chris Brandnew(release date January 2013). 1-3’s next project “Cartoons: Video Games, and Shrooms” is expected to be another great effort.
