A newly-formed band from Eugene, Oregon. The Freetones plays an all-original mix of rock, jazz, funk, and roots. With Ed Parker on guitar and vocals, Larry Wayte on keyboards, Sam Elkington on bass, and Chris Lincoln on drums. The Freetones combine an exciting blend of styles and background into a musical mixture that rocks and beguiles with both direct simplicity and thoughtful complexity. Since forming in the fall of 2006, the Freetones have played numerous engagements in Eugene and soon have booked shows throughout the Northwest. Fans of the Freetones enjoy their hard hitting rock and funk rhythms while also looking forward to the jazz-inspired improvisational forays into rarely explored musical terrain. The Freetones get people off their seats to dance while also giving them food for musical thought.
