BIOGRAPHY:
Brought together by accident, one cold evening in 2009, six guys decided to
embark on a musical adventure. The Fudge was born.

Every band member had his own musical background, and at that first meeting it was immediately clear that rather than being a bone of contention, this diversity would be one of the band’s biggest strengths. ‘People were constantly having new ideas. We wrote three songs at that first rehearsal’, says Darius Timmer (keys and vocals).

After that first evening, the band made a plan of action. Midas Treub (lead vocals
and guitar) recalls: ‘We wanted to play as many gigs as possible but at the
same time we wanted to work on new material. So we decided to enter as many
competitions as we could find, in order to finance our first album.’

So The Fudge started appearing at Dutch pop venues with a whole range
of instruments, effects and techniques. Combining Rock, Balkan, Folk, Pop,
Psychedelic and Ska. They dubbed it Magnetic Rock: loud, tightly structured and great to dance to.

‘I think that the fact that we obviously have so much fun on stage has also helped us do well in competitions’, concludes Midas.

And they did do well. They won the Koninginnenacht competition in The Hague, the
Make More Music competition, and the MCN Audience Award as well as the second place awarded by the judges of the major annual Dutch pop award (Grote Prijs van Nederland). These achievements not only spread the band’s name, but also brought in
some money – which was immediately invested in recording an album. Together
with Jonas Filtenborg (Relax, Beef), the band started work in the studio towards the
end of 2010, and in the space of three weeks they recorded the entire CD Morning
Comes Again. The tracks were mastered by the American Brad Blackwood (Black
Eyed Peas, Maroon 5), who took care to bring out the many layers of sound in the
band’s music.

"The album revolves around the feeling that you have when the night changes into day, and vice versa. The feeling that you've been picked up and then tossed back down to earth again, that's a feeling that you can experience as liberating as well as something oppresive. We've tried to translate that experience into music, Morning Comes Again"
