The Fundamentals

The Fundamentals are a 5 piece popular rock group from Kilkenny featuring David Dooley on vocals, Eoin Drennan on guitar, David Long on drums, Jerry Bennett on bass and Robbie Larkin on keyboards.

In 2007, the band formally released their debut album entitled "The Past and Present Collide". The album was met with top reviews on the music circuit and has featured on the play lists of many of the countries local stations. Some stations featured appearances by the band themselves including FM104, KCLR, WLR, East Coast FM and Shannonside FM. All of the aforementioned and more were visited to coincide with a national tour that took place in August 2007 which saw the band take in almost all counties in Ireland in the space of one month.

"Vegas Sun", also from Past and Present Collide found itself sitting at the forefront of the compilation album "Our Space" which went into the record books as being the first independently released compilation album to reach 5 in the Irish charts. A subsequent review of the album saw the song being described as 'An outstanding track' by Jackie Hayden from Hot Press.

As well as promoting "Brother" an additional four of their tracks from Past and Present Collide featured on RTE 2's hit Cannes nominated drama "Aisling's Diary", of which the first season has just finished.

The group are currently touring with "Brother" – their debut single, which reached No.1 on the download music charts in November. After the Brother tour, (which is expected to continue until February 2009), the group intend to return to the studio to record the new single, before heading back on the road internationally and at home.
