Seek First

Written By: Yasin A. Jackson

Seek First

I know, that sometimes it seems lonely
People all around you, but no one is here
Looking in the water, with no reflection
Mind wandering does anyone care
Suddenly, you see rays of sunshine
You’re not alone anymore
Suddenly, you feel above the tree tops
You’re not alone anymore

Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood
Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood

Maybe, in time it will pass
Your soul is growing changing, everything is clear
Capture everything around, in a frame
Look at all the stokes, and know of where they came
Letting your soul, soar freely isn’t easy
The rewards of giving, can be great
Letting your heart, be light can be dangerous
Remember when passion was there from the start

Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood
Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood

I know, that life is ever changing
Night will fall and, the sun will rise again
When others try, to get you down
Relax, Seek to understand
When things seem, to spin round and round
Breath, Take a look about you
You’ll be understood
Oh

Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood
Seek first to understand,
Then you will be understood

Talkin About You

Written By: Yasin A. Jackson

Talkin About You
VR1
I’m talkin bout you (talkin bout you)
I’m talkin bout me (talkin bout me yeah)
I’m talkin bout the future (talkin bout future)
I’m talkin bout the world (same time)

How can you stand there, with that look upon your face
How can you tell me it doesn’t matter, it’s not your face not your place
It’s all the same, it doesn’t matter where you are
We’re all brothas, We’re all sistas
Your world keeps turning on its axis the same as mine
Di dat did a di it da, gotta keep ourselves in check, do you get that

VR2
Been a lot of places, seen a lot of thangs
Buildings falling down countries civilly warring
You got to be, a little bit stronger
To handle the intangible
You got to keep taking the high road
Stay keeping it together

What went wrong when you were a young boy
You take that poison from your hands
What went wrong when you were a young gal
You take that poison from your hands

Gotta keep ourselves in check, do you get that

CH
Realize the struggle of man (struggle of man), and release your compassion (compassion)
And enhanced self will emerge (emerge), for judgment will come to all (It will come to you)

VR3
I’m talkin bout you (talkin bout you)
I’m talkin bout me (talkin bout me yeah)
I’m talkin bout the future (talkin bout future)
I’m talkin bout the world (same time)

Bet your feet are tired, bet your toes are numb
From walkin in my shoes, not the parade for which you’d come
You did what you did, to make tomorrow shine
I did what I could, so you can say the day is mine

Dit dit do do dow dit a da dow 3x (The world is turning what you gonna do)

CH
Realize the struggle of man (struggle of man), and release your compassion (compassion)
And enhanced self will emerge (emerge), for judgment will come to all (It will come to you)

Instrumental
VR4
I’m so exhausted seems it’s never enough,
Feel like I can’t walk anymore but I have got to get up (gotta keep on moving)
Dust it off (gotta keep on moving)
Keep keeping on (gotta keep on moving)

Our lives are intertwined in a web a sea of a score of music
Each string, drop, note has got it’s place
Which wave will you be,
How will you hold the music together
Dit dit do do dow dit a da dow 3x (The world is turning what you gonna do)
