This ten piece funk ensemble brings influences from The Niteliters, the JB's, Ray Barretto, Tom Browne, Roy Ayers, The Meters, The Latin Breed and more to audiences throughout San Francisco and Oakland (the band's home), California. Since inception in late 2008, the group has headlined bay area funk venues such as The Elbo Room, Shattuck Downlow and The Boom Boom Room.
With a slick blend of latin, funk and soul and a line-up capable of hard hitting short instrumentals to stretched out dance floor filling jams the band continues to push itself constantly adding material and mixing up the sets. The music is geared towards drawing, maintaining and building a crowd throughout the night and not only brings but ignites a dynamic with crowds of all backgrounds and tastes.
Founded by bassist Mark LeBlanc, F.R.O. with the aid of founding fathers Marco Menendez, Chris Klein, Rick King and Nick Lee has established itself in the bay area and is driven to spreading the music, the vibe and the funk throughout the west coast and beyond.
