In the time where almost every rapper is saying the same thing on record (I mean lyrically). We definetely need people like The FUNKYDOPE PROJECT to raise up the low level of our society seriously. It makes me sick to turn up the radio and hear the same sh*t over and over, Where are the new KRS-One,...An artist suppose to be a role model, someone with a certain sense of responsibility, knowing that whatsoever I said on record is going to influence the kids out there. But nowadays the only thing we hear on the record is beef, cars, b*tches, monies, killing... I wonder where America will be in 20 years. It almost drives me crazy when I turn up the radio and hear the same shits over and over whether it is 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Mobb Deep, Game etc... the foolishness of so called "Thug" is really getting on my nerves. Everybody wants to be a hard but not smart, most of the songs are just about being thug, gansta, pimps, hoes and other stupid shits... No message in the song. Please give me a break, you wanna tell me that you are a songwriter ? Its sad, definitely sad. Most of the kids in the world don´t really understand English even in the States kids believe that, its a cool thing to be a Killer, gangsta... Don´t get me wrong, I love hip hop music and good music in general and for me, music suppose to elevate the mind of people but the direction that hip hop music is taking right now is far away from elevation or guidance in the positive manner. I do also know the reality of life on this planet and i am not definitely satisfy with the concept of exploiting the third world (Africa, Latin America, Middle East etc...), the all system is based on profit, money, money and again money. Nobody really cares how people are suffuring, starving, dying etc... Even though we all know (I guess) that without the wealth of Africa and other so called third world, we will never have the standard of life that we have in the west. From slavery to colonization, and post colonization. This is the reason that African American rappers should be more conscious about their history, where they came from, what they have been through and where they are going ? REMEMBER THAT HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF IN DIFFERENT WAYS, WHEN PEOPLE DONT WANT TO LEARN FROM THEIR PASS EXPERIENCES OR IF THEY ARE JUST TOO DUMB TO LEARN.
Therefore stop acting like animals in a modern jungle of American.
Some people who are not happy to see the way hip hop music is successful, may see my critics as an opportuniy to attack hip hop and hip hop makers, but i have to tell you in advance that i will not allow you to take any advantage of this review in in order for you to try to use your frustration and jalousy on hip hop artists/music, since everybody know that the violence in United States did not begin with hip hop culture. The U.S has an history of violence from the very beginning, way before the creation of the constitution. From the war with native American to Hollywood movies, and of course the politics pulling strings behind it. These are the main sources of violence in the United States mentality.

Back to the gansta hip hop subject:
No real gansta will pick up the mic and start claiming i am a killer, gansta, i´ll break your motherfuckin´neck ...or whatever NO. In fact its not an easy life as you can image. If a true gansta had a choice he would never choose that life´s style. You see but fake rappers want to choose what they don´t know ´cause they think its cool to be a gangsta, people will respect you...
In spite of all there are still " true soldiers ", true hip hop lovers " like "THE FUNKYDOPE PROJECT" with tight hip hop beatz, nice hook lines, real message all combine in one.

I THINK " THE FUNKYDOPE PROJECT" IS MORE THAN JUST MUSIC, THESE DUDES HAVE A VISION, ITS A REVOLUTION WITHIN THE HIP HOP WORLD, ITS A SORT OF ;WHEN BOB MARLEY, PETER TOSH AND OTHERS... GOT TOGETHER TO MAKE MUSIC, IT WAS NOT ABOUT MAKING MUSIC BUT IT WAS A WAY TO GET THEIR MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE.
I LOVE THE CONCEPT.
