What sets us apart from other bands? we sound like none of them and all of them. we sound like every band, but none in particular.

The Story:
The Furies first started on November 18th 2009, but that isn’t nearly the beginning. Between 2000-2008 Nick Link performed in a variety of different bands in his home state of Michigan. The bands varied in genres including rock, hip hop, country, & metal. He also played a variety of instruments (depending on the band) and spent countless hours recording with Pro Tools.
During this time in New York James Lee began writing and recording simple folk songs on his personal computer. These songs built a small following for James, but only existed as recordings since he had no backing band.
In 2008 Nick Link moved to Brooklyn New York in hope of finding work in the television industry. A mutual friend introduced James & Nick soon after. James happened to be working in a post production house and got Nick a job. They soon became very good friends and found they had a similar taste in music. Both had expressed interest in forming a band. Nick Link started practicing the drums, an instrument he hadn’t played in previous bands. James began playing his old recordings for Nick. Nick enjoyed the recordings and with James they began re-thinking the sound of the old songs. They started playing the songs with James playing guitar and singing and Nick on the drums and thus The Furies began.
