The Future Shape Of Sound is a mixture of Northern Soul, scratchy Blues, 1960s film soundtracks and vintage erotica: It is Space Age Gangster Soul!

Quotes from famous people:
“Very good, visually arresting and sounding fantastic!” (Charlie Gillett, BBC London).
“You are called The Future Shape Of Sound but there is nothing futuristic about it, it’s basically 12 bar Blues…?” (Sharleen Spiteri from the band Texas, (who are not from Texas by the way…)
Dizzee Rascal: “What’s that ‘Space Age Gangster Soul’? Do you think you is gangsta?”
TFSOS: “No, Dizzee, it's ‘Gangster’ with an 'e r' not an 'a', it refers to our referencing soundtracks of 1960s gangster movies
Dizzee Rascal: “So is it you rappin’ gangsta shit, then?”
TFSOS: ”…erm”
“I got a good vibe off you guys” Jamie Cullum

The London-based project is spearheaded by producer Alex McGowan and singer Big Daddy Kai who are the main writers on their two releases “Mad DNA Mud” (album 2007) and “Eleven 59 –EP” (EP 2010) produced at Alex’s studio Space Eko.
“Eleven 59” marks their latest release inviting you to join a party gone wrong…
The CD itself comes in a groovy (literally) retro vinyl-look and also contains a CD-rom section with individual elements of the song Eleven 59 for remixing pleasure.
Some of the collaborators in the studio and live: Nomtai Mabo (Ladyjoker), Justin Stones, Son Of Dave, PJ Higgins (Natacha Atlas), Jack Cowens (Dub Pistols), Arnie Hjorvar (The Vaccines), Marc Layton-Bennett (Jah Wobble), Giacomo, Kevin Synnott.

Live TFSOS bring the party with a down and dirty Rock’n’Roll show and have played countless gigs in London as well as tours in Russia and Germany. They have won the London-based Peoples Music Awards 2009 and their music has been used in Myspace interactive drama “Freak”. They have contributed the soundtrack of feature length documentary “9to5 - Days in Porn” as well as other independent film productions. (Hero Tomorrow; Gods Waiting List; Leave Without Running etc…) More recently they were shortlisted on Sky TV’s reality talent competition show “Must Be The Music”.
