THE BAND MEMBERS
Nathan Lee Harris - Singer / Song Writer / Lyricist The Voice of the band, Nathan, was The Galeej Gurus’ original drummer. After juggling between the sticks and his vocal chords for nearly six years, he is now the band’s front man. He has proven his worth as a good showman and has crowds delighted with his wacky, witty and wild showmanship on stage.
His influences include RHCP, Gun 'n' Roses, Bon Jovi, Kings of Leon, Ozzy Osborne, Prince and Robbie Williams.

Matthew Harris - Bass Guitar A thoroughly experimental bassist, Matthew has been teasing the lower octaves for around 10 years now, and is the backbone of the band. Being a fan of rock and modern guitar funk, most of the Galeej riffs and runs originate from him and his constant concern is finding new ways to present Galeej compositions.
Matthew also runs an Event Management firm.

Ananth Menon - Guitars / Vocals Along with Nathan and Matthew, Ananth is the band’s third founding member. He has been playing the six strings for more than 8 years, and is particularly fascinated with the blues. He enjoys all sorts of music and has even been briefly involved with commercial Tamil and Telugu cinema music . He draws influences primarily from the blues and rock and roll era, although he is also an avid listener of Indian classical music.

Lyrics

High Above

Written By: Nathan Harris

High Above

o It’s good to Kind,
It’s good to be blind,
It’s good to be where you cannot hide.

It’s good to be brave,
And not anyone’s slave
And know that someday I’ll choose my grave.

Chorus:
(‘Coz) I’m free,
I fly high above the trees,
I know not where I’ll be,
I fly high above,
Away from love,
High above the trees.

o It’s good to be fair,
When somebody cares,
Then we’ll all just shake hands,
And learn to share.

It’s good to be right,
And to put up a fight,
Don’t keep telling yourself,
To stay out of sight.

(Bridge)
I’m free, I’m high…
Know not where my spirit flies (2)
