Bio
The GateKeeperz, a gospel rap group based in Winston-Salem, NC, have been claiming Gods victory through rap and song since April 2003. The group is made up of two rappers (Parable, Sound Doctrine), two vocalist (Chi Chi, Victoria) and a live band (Micha - keyboards, Calvin - lead guitar, Tracy - bass and - drums). Incorporating a full time band further enhances and segments the sound of the GateKeeperz and is a clear differentiator.
Bridging the gap between Gospel and rap, the versatile sound of GK includes underground rap, Jazz, Contemporary Gospel, rock and our own GK sound. This sound has been heard live up and down the east coast while sharing our ministry in over 50 venues in 19 different cities. Not only has our live ministry been well received, but our internet ministry took us to number 1 on MP3.coms Gospel rap charts, and Song of the Week on Garageband.com.
Our mission is to give God the victory over rap music corporately. Rap itself is not corrupt, it's the lyrics and the artist that abuse this genre. We will reclaim souls lost as a result of the abuse to this genre.
Our vision is to bring a new sound to the youth that would feed their spirits, and protect the gates that some music may corrupt. The "eye gate" and the "ear gate" are the doors to our spirits hence the name the GateKeeperz. We are committed to speaking life into those gates from our Lord Jesus Christ.
