The Geraghtys

When a three-man group walks onto stage, what do you think of? Do you think of driving bass leads, memorable chord progressions, energetic drumming, and appealing cadences?
We dream it into a live set.

The Geraghtys are a three-member wolf pack that originated in Newmarket, Ontario. The Geraghtys formed in 2006 as a folk-punk basement jam band. We were your typical Against Me! wannabe folk-punk band. We loved the music but we never got much more then your simple 3 chord imitation anthems. We took a short hiatus as a band in hopes of revitalizing the stagnant writing process. We started jamming again 3 months later. In the time apart, we discovered that we had each grown our separate ways musically speaking. This would seem to be a point of conflict for most bands. For the Geraghtys however, it proved to be just what we needed to create "the chorus(es) we'd been waiting for." We combined our new respective tastes in music with the punk roots that seem to unify the hearts of every suburban teenager. By doing so, we created a brand new set list that we were really proud of. Things continued from there.

We recently released our 6-song EP "Hired 22.30" which was recorded semi-professionally over the summer. Currently, we enjoy a growing, loyal fan base and we can rely on a crowd coming out to all of our shows. We like to have a set that is full of seamless transitions and an exciting dynamic that we consider ambitious for a band consisting of only 3 members. We have shared the stage with a cornucopia of local talent such as Faceparty, Bon Chapeau, Marcus Schwan and The Elwins. We are anxiously anticipating our upcoming show with The Flatliners on August 6th at our local hotspot the White Rabbit!

We like to spread the love, excite as many people as possible, and create a fan experience that is full of surprises, tension, and climax.
