The Getaway

The Getaway performs a unique blend of modern blues, rock n’ roll and a whole mess of other stuff too. They keep audiences engaged with a perfect mix of creative and dramatic songwriting and good old-time rock n’ roll fun. The music is gritty, soulful, and well just completely goofy at times. Formed in 2010 in Denver, CO- The Getaway has already gained a solid reputation as a talented and professional up-and-coming band. They have played many events, private parties and venues like The Toad Tavern, Bender’s Tavern, The UMX (huge local music event), Bar Bar, Bushwackers and more.

The Getaway can play original and covers from many musical genres and many different eras. The covers they play include classic artists like The Beatles, Taj Mahal, The Doors, the Allman Bros; to newer groups like Stone Temple Pilots, The White Stripes, Government Mule and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The band includes Kevin McCabe on lead vocals and guitar, Mike Vallee on lead guitar, Hans Thompson on bass and Dave Strauss on drums. The group is made up of experienced musicians that live for the thrill of performing to a live audience. Get ready for a show that is unlike anything you’ve seen or heard before!
